Halloween is Approaching

Halloween is a popular festival these days, especially among children, celebrated each year on October 31st. It is believed to have originated more than 2000 years ago in the part of Europe now known as Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Northern France which was inhabited by a group of people called Celts.

The festival was brought to America by the European immigrants and it is now celebrated worldwide. Do you celebrate it in your country?

People decorate their houses with scary decorations. They carve pumpkins and put candles inside transforming them into lanterns, called Jack’o lanterns. Children, and sometimes adults, dress up in costumes and go from door to door treat-or-tricking, asking for candy. Some of the most popular costumes are: witch, ghost, vampire, zombie, and werewolf. Do you like to dress up? Which one is your favourite costume and why?

Happy Halloween!
